Exposing the corporate American election system

One of the things that irritates me the most is Americans who try to shame people into voting for corporate democrats because if the opposing candidate (in this case, Donald Trump) wins,  some of the personal rights and privileges of these same (mostly white) Americans will be threatened

There is definitely some truth to this. However, when it comes to the rights, privileges and the actual lives of people in arab countries, the same folks that claim to be so concerned about their personal rights being taken away don’t seem to care. They don’t seem to have the same empathy they have for themselves or people in their own circles and communities when it comes to people in other countries, particularly in muslim countries.

They praise about voting for someone solely because they come across as being nice or "well spoken". Because they know what to say in order to make you feel good while you end up looking away to all the evil they contribute to. They may praise these folks because they are part of a marginalized group, but forget to reflect on the fact that one can be a part of a marginalized group and still perpetuate ideologies and commit actions that actively harm their very own community, as well as other marginalized communities. Each person should have their own choice and I respect that, but when people want to pressure everyone else to vote for someone when there are very strong valid concerns at play, including in some cases the livelihood of entire populations, that disturbs my peace

People fail to acknowledge that both the Republican AND Democratic Parties would continue to represent the interest of the big corporations that fund their campaign, rather than the every day people they claim to represent

They will continue to protect the interests of the private healthcare system, the prison system, oil companies, etc...

Both mainstream parties also support the militarization of police, which is the last thing we need if we truly want an end to police brutality and the marginalization of many communities including the queer community, the black community, the disabled community, amongst many others

Donald Trump will outwardly let you know he plans to be an evil dictator and enforce racist, sexist, ableist, homophobic and transphobic policies. He doesn't pretend to be nice, so I don't even expect him to be

Corporate democrats however, will use all the sweet talk and feel good phrases in the world to make you believe that they truly care about you or others around you, believe me, I believed them for a long time, but in reality they don't care much more about your rights as Trump does, they just do a much better job at pretending they care while effectively ignoring and deflecting any valid criticism of their policies. Sadly, for a lot of people, this works. Many never dig deeper in to truly understanding how these candidates, just as their republican counterparts, will also continue to contribute to a capitalist system rooted in colonialism, imperialism and white supremacy

Every four years I used to get excited about voting for the Democratic candidate because I naïvely believed that they truly stood for real democracy and equal rights for everyone, but then I quickly realized that every four years we get the same empty promises and when the next election rules around nothing has really changed, if not gotten worse

Because of our flawed electoral college system, living in a place like California means that my vote for President will have no statistical value

I will never vote for Trump and I am honestly tired of voting for the corporate Democratic Party as well

Not committing to voting for the corporate Democrats seems to make a lot of people angry, but I would invite these people to be angry at the candidates themselves for purposely ignoring the concerns of progressive voters while giving more of their platform to conservatives and not allowing an uncommitted speaker at the DNC

This, in addition to spending millions of dollars to block third-party candidates from getting onto the ballot and not allowing them to participate in debates

Progressives like me who want actual change to our rotten system are not to blame

Our very system, it’s evil manipulation tactics, and everyone who is complacent with it is to blame!

Because of my privileged position in society, I’m one of the few people that would benefit from whichever candidate wins this election, at the cost of many others who don’t carry the same privileges, but I loudly REFUSE to vote for anyone who would promote a system that harms the majority of people for the benefit of their own circles, ESPECIALLY those who pretend to care about everyone when in reality they only care about the interests of the corporations funding their campaigns. We all deserve better than this!
